Dragging Electrics Into The Digital Age

HouseLog came from a simple idea - bringing trades labelling into the 21st century.

Look at any consumer unit, boiler, or lightswitch and there is no difference to the labelling you saw in the 1960s - maybe a label is printed rather than written, but the information is still the same. 

​

We want to change that by giving creating opportunity to record everything that makes it easier for their clients, themselves, and anybody else who needs to work on the project in the future.

Our Story

In late 2022 George, our founder, was shocked after moving house. ​

​

Literally.

​

After removing a wired but broken smoke detector the wires that should have been dead were still live because a 'quirk' left by an electrician. The circuit had the right stickers, the right labels, and said 'lights' but there was nowhere to add the 'quirky' context that led to his shock.

This is where the idea for HouseLog was born - we want to make labelling more intuitive, making it safer for people to work, easier to give information to the next person, and to save trades people and DIYers time and energy.
